Language at work

During 2026 , we, the Association of Proletarian Authors will publish our 15th member anthology about class and work. With it we want to follow the long and wide tradition of international solidarity by the labour movement.

Language does not only mirror our reality, it is also a political space where meaning is created and distributed. We are living in a time in history where language is used as border guard for the nation states. We are measured, restricted and identified by language. We are demanded a certain language to be able to exist and work. At the same time language can open us up and connect us to other people and places.

Hereby we call on all those who work with language to use language for resistance. We are looking for stories, poetry, essays, visual novels and texts that sound the languages and experiences of the resistance movements, of migration and escape over borders, of exile, diaspora and solidarity, of native languages, multilingualism and translation. The scene can be multiple places, here and there, or in between, like in government waiting rooms, at work or protesting out on the streets. The writers are free to use their imagination around the anthology theme.

English and multilingual submissions are welcome. If you write in another language and want to translate your submission to Swedish, we will help you with proof-reading and editing.
